Follow these steps to apply for federal student aid:
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.ed.gov. The Pepperdine University school code is 001264.
Complete the 2019-2020 FAFSA if you plan to start your program in Fall 2019, Spring 2020, or Summer 2020. A new FAFSA is required for every academic year in which you plan to apply for federal student aid. Each academic year starts in fall, and includes spring and summer trimesters.
Monitor your Pepperdine email and Student Home Page for the financial aid email notification. Admitted students are able to view missing documents on the "To Do List" on the student WaveNet portal. Once your file is complete and award(s) have been offered you will receive an email notification of your awards on WaveNet.
Accept, Decline or Reduce your awards. An award notification email will be sent to you with directions on how to accept or decline your offered aid. You must "Accept" your financial aid in order for it to be disbursed to your student account.
Complete Entrance Counseling. After you accept your offered aid you are required to complete Entrance Counseling online at StudentLoans.gov.
Electronically sign the Master Promissory Note (MPN) for Unsubsidized and Graduate PLUS loans online at StudentLoans.gov.
Note: These items will post to your “To Do List” and will remain until they are completed and processed. A credit check is required if you choose to apply for the Federal Direct Graduate PLUS loan. If your loan is denied, you can re-apply with an endorser or appeal the denial through the Department of Education.
Loan Deferment for Prior Loans. Update your lender(s) with addresses and other pertinent contact information. Your loan servicer contact information can be found on the National Student Loan Data System.
